A much better cinematic outing for Peter Cushing as the intrepid time traveller. This time he ends up having to try to defeat an invasion by the Daleks in what's left of 2150s London. Bernard Cribbins provides the comedy foil as our intrepid team join the resistance fighters trying to stop the Earth's core from being magnetised and the planet used as a spaceship for our tinned foes. Ray Brooks, Shiela Steafel and Andrew Keir help keep this sci-fi adventure ticking along and Philip Madoc is good as the collaborator. The special effects are better than you might expect. Spielberg it isn't, but for us Brits brought up on this kind of television, it's still fun to watch and it has plenty of action.
