John and Jessica discover they barely know each other but, at their wedding, make a vow to stay together in order to keep the house they have bought.
John and Jessica settle down in their new BTO flat but Soo Leng threatens to move in too because she has a stake in the house she helped to pay 15% of the flat's down payment. To pay Soo Leng back, John takes up several jobs with Kai's help.

Jessica runs into an old JC schoolmate, Nelson, who has become rich and successful and hasn't forgotten that Jessica broke his heart all these years ago. Meanwhile, John is talent scouted by an agent who tells him he could have been a bigger star if he had met him earlier. John and Jessica wonder if their lives would have been much better had they never met and got married.
Soo Leng is eager to have a grandchild and she pressures Jessica and John to sign up for a Baby-Making workshop. Meanwhile, Kai's stalker is back, and he enlists Vanessa's help yet again to get rid of her.

John, keen to set a good example for the baby and to do right by Jessica, starts taking actual responsibility around the house. But will it last? John and Jessica try to fend off Soo Leng’s attempts at using their flat as her store room. John and Kai make a disturbing discovery about Soo Leng and Kok Wee’s past that leads Kai to question if Kok Wee is really his father.

John has been depressed since his band, CMIE, left him, and Jessica hatches a plan to help him get back on his feet. Meanwhile, Kok Wee develops an addiction to some special grade durians that Kai buys him from Geylang, and will stop at nothing to have them.
John’s almost got his new band together, and tries to court the best guitarist in Singapore to complete the line-up. However, Doris shows up to stay, unannounced, and inadvertently meddles in his efforts. Kai and Vanessa negotiate new terms and conditions for their win-win relationship.
Soo Leng get jealous when John starts spending lots of quality time with Doris. Jessica, on the other hand, is pleased as it leaves her alone for some 'me' time. Meanwhile, Kok Wee drives everyone crazy when he tries to play the handyman and fix everything in the house that’s broken.
Jessica and Doris have a big fight over Doris’s partying ways. But Jessica later feels terrible when she finds out the truth that Doris has been keeping from her. Soo Leng takes it upon herself to train John to pass his annual IPPT, and Vanessa enlists Kai’s help at a school excursion.
Soo Leng is struck with dengue fever, and Jessica is reluctantly roped in to help Soo Leng to organise her RC event because she’s on leave. Meanwhile, Kai is tormented by a mysterious stalker yet again.
Soo Leng, now a certified baby-making workshop facilitator, tailors a workshop specially for John and Jessica to try to get them to produce a grandchild. Vanessa clashes with the cleaning auntie at her school staff room.
Kok Wee’s suspicions about the legitimacy of John and Jessica’s marriage are aroused when Jessica appears to forget her own wedding anniversary. Will John and Jessica be put to the test when Mr Razali volunteers them to give a marriage talk at the RC?
