Filippos Razis, a general surgeon at the State hospital of Agios Symeon, finds a 10-year-old Roma girl abandoned outside the hospital, just as he is leaving work. He immediately gets her in the emergency room and decides to operate on her, as there are no other surgeons available.
Filippos and his wife Maritina are confronted with a harsh reality that breeds tension between them. Filippos, seeing Belou's despair, decides to operate on her brother.
Filippos tries to regain the trust of Maritina, who is growing more and more distant as the days pass. Thaleia Mela gets close to Belou Albasha.
Filippos tries to find out what has happened to Burke Albasha and confronts the hospital administrator about the child’s illegal admission into the operating room.
Filippos tries to approach Maritina, but she avoids him and decides to channel her grief into her ceramic art.

Filippos quickly comes face to face with the unforgiving world of prisons. He learns about the bet on his name and pushes Maritina away from him to protect her before she has a chance tell him some important news.
Thaleia, desperate with her father's predicament, makes a decision that puts them in even greater danger. Rafail supports her, while at the same time trying to gather the evidence needed for the retrial of his friend's case.
The Police Sergeant assigns the role of a doctor to Filippos in prison, to stop the drug dealing. This infuriates Iagos, who attacks him along with his thugs, and Sergios sends Filippos straight to solitary confinement.
Rafail recovers from the accident, but realizes that his illness is getting worse. Together with Erietta and Thaleia, they speculate whether or not the car accident was a murder attempt after all.
Time has passed and Filippos has put the ward in order. Iagos gets angry and attacks Tzelos, prompting Filippos to offer him a deal: he will leave Tzelos alone in exchange for him helping him get back on his feet.
Filippos searches for Maritina and asks Rafail to help him find her. He lets him know that Maritina is having an affair with Iasonas, with whom she is raising their son.
Erietta's memories from the past come back to haunt her, causing her to experience inexplicable outbursts. Maritina and Iasonas get close and a photo of them reaches Filippos' hands. Rafail insists on finding new evidence to help Filippos, but he doesn't want to keep fighting to protect his family. Iagos has set his plan to kill Filippos in motion, knowing that he has no room for failure.
Filippos is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of "Agios Symeon" with severe brain injury. Maritina arrives at the hospital and sees him after a long time, but their meeting does not go as she had expected. Sirhan is furious that Iagos has failed to kill Filippos in prison, so he takes matters into his own hands at the hospital.
Filippos, a convict and fugitive, takes refuge in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. There he meets Sylvia Riga, a lawyer, who seems to want to help him get justice. Together they spend four years in solitary confinement until Filippos decides to go back and take his life into his own hands.
Four years later, Filippos returns to Athens, choosing an abandoned "train graveyard" as his place of refuge. The lives of Rafail, Thaleia, and Maritina have radically changed. Just as Sylvia is stressing to him that he should live in the shadows, there is a medical emergency at Agios Symeon hospital and exposes Filippos' return to his former colleagues, and not just them!
On the occasion of the opening of the new kidney transplant ward in Agios Simeon, Galateia gives a speech at the hospital, which troubles Philip. Through her show, Thaleia is led out of a casino where she and Philip and Raphael discover the reason behind the involvement of a key person in the case...
While Thaleia is watching Sylvia, Rafail realizes that someone inside the hospital is secretly giving information to Sirhan. Maritina realizes that someone is watching her house and Iasonas wonders if Filippos is back. News of a car accident makes Filippos rush to the hospital, but once there, he is faced with something other than what he expected.
Filippos finds out what kind of relationship Sylvia has with Aravantinos. And while Sirhan orders Iagos to kill Filippos, Sylvia turns to him and begs him to save him. Iagos is forced to choose between saving Filippos or himself. While Iasonas with Lena and Rafail are at Maritina's house, Filippos enters Sirhan's cafe and discovers a new clue...
Filippos and Rafail try to realize the involvement of an acquaintance in the ring and his relationship with Sirhan. Rafail learns the truth about Erietta and confronts Filippos. Rafail and Sylvia question Erietta's absence from the hospital and from Greece for so many years, while Maritina finds a mysterious card in Jason's jacket.
Maritina finds out more about the psychiatrist whose card Iasonas has and ponders how she might be connected to Erietta. A person from the past, previously presumed dead, returns to Thaleia's life and sheds light on the case, for the first time leading Filippos to believe that he will be vindicated.
Maritina tries to clear the air with Iasonas but he has other plans. Tasos gets angry with Thaleia after he realizes that she is still working on Razis' case. Rafail confronts Lena for her involvement in Filippos' sentencing. Filippos meets Burke, who seems to be coming to their appointment with something else in mind. Maritina has an unexpected visitor at her home; it is none other than Erietta!
Thaleia digs through the show's archives to check if reporters' cameras have captured Filippos meeting Burke. Erietta is trying to recover and reveals to Maritina and Rafail how she found herself in the illegal surgery room and saved Filippos. Sirhan is called upon to explain himself concerning Burke to Aravantinos, who orders him to take him out, while Filippos is called upon to save the man who trapped him.
When Sirhan realizes that Tzelena is in danger because of Aravantinos, he turns on him and threatens to kill him. Burke finds out the truth about Sirhan and Tzelena. Iasonas asks Maritina if she knows where Εrietta might be. Meanwhile, Εrietta lets Filippos and Rafail know what really happened that fateful night when she injured her leg, many years ago. Thaleia finds herself in a dilemma and is asked to choose between the channel and Filippos.
While the police search for Filippos throughout Athens, Inspector Kokkinos visits Maritina at her house. Iasonas kidnaps Orestis and threatens Maritina, telling her that if she wants to see her son again, she should tell him where Philipos is. Aravantinos learns something that puts Sylvia's plan in jeopardy. Filippos makes a deal with Iasonas that brings about Filippos' end.
While Filippos' life is in danger, Sylvia defends him in the first trial of the Razis case, involving his escape from the hospital. People from the past appear as witnesses to testify, while the evidence, presented by Sylvia, surprises Aravantinos, who assigns Sirhan to kill a key witness. Thaleia and Rafail receive an old case of organ trafficking. They realize that both cases share a common person.
The day everyone has been waiting for has arrived. Filippos stands in the dock for the last time and vows to tell the truth. Will he be able to uncover the trap set for him many years ago and expose those behind the criminal ring? Will he succeed in bringing justice to those who have been unjustly lost? Will he be found innocent or guilty?
