This is actually quite a good little western adventure and I might have scored it higher but for the singing; there is just way, way too much of it! The plot keeps the action coming quite thick and fast, otherwise - Roy Rogers ("Brett Starr") is mistakenly appointed sheriff of Tombstone by a mayor who (not so) secretly wants to take over the town and it's local silver mines. Accompanied by ever faithful Gabby Hayes, however, Rogers soon discovers he is on the wrong side and starts to try to put matters right. Plaudits, as usual, to Hayes for stealing the show - and to Zeffie Tilbury as "Granny Carson" who is the feisty old owner of the mine that feeds the others.
