Nymphomaniac is a sexually explicit drama about a woman's erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe. The story is divided in two volumes and eight chapters; Volume I follows young Joe as portrayed by Stacy Martin, and Volume II follows the older Joe in later life and Seligman's apartment as portrayed by Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Ted is a 2012 American comedy film directed by Seth MacFarlane. The screenplay by MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin, and Wellesley Wild is from MacFarlane's story. The film stars MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and with Joel McHale and Giovanni Ribisi in supporting roles, with MacFarlane providing the voice of the titular character. The film tells the story of John Bennett, a Boston native whose childhood wish brings his teddy bear friend Ted to life. However, Ted prevents John and his love interest Lori Collins from moving on with their lives. A sequel, Ted 2, was released on June 26, 2015.

Wolf Creek is a 2005 independent Australian horror film written, co-produced and directed by Greg McLean, and starring John Jarratt. The story revolves around three backpackers who find themselves held captive and subsequently hunted by a serial killer in the Australian outback. The film was ambiguously marketed as being "based on true events"; the plot bore elements similar to the real-life crimes of Ivan Milat and the 2001 murder of Peter Falconio. After the success of the first film, McLean announced John Jarratt to reprise his role of Mick Taylor. Filming took place in late 2012 and early 2013 in Australia, and the movie had its world premiere on 30 August 2013.
