Like hers, her father Jacques Verlier, she aspired to become a painter, also drew the drawings for a book that her partner Gil Matt wrote: The Adventures of Truand. Around 23, she became an actress and took the name of her father.
In Paris, she joined the Catherine Harlé agency under the pseudonym "Dalaïna" and quickly began shooting films.
