Nivin Pauly
Nivin Pauly is an Indian actor and producer who has made a significant impact in the Malayalam film industry. He was born on October 11, 1984, and has received several awards, including two Kerala State Film Awards and three Filmfare South awards.
Nivin Pauly began his career with a role in Vineeth Sreenivasan's directorial debut, Malarvaadi Arts Club, in 2009. He gained recognition for his performance in the romantic film Thattathin Marayathu (2012).
Some of his notable films include Neram (2013), a bilingual black-comedy thriller in which Nivin Pauly played a pivotal role. He also starred in 1983 (2014), a sports-drama that showcased his versatility as an actor. Ohm Shanthi Oshaana (2014) was a romantic-comedy that further solidified his position as a popular actor. Bangalore Days (2014) was a romantic-drama that earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor. Oru Vadakkan Selfie (2015) was a comedy road-thriller that showcased his comedic timing. Premam (2015) was a coming-of-age romantic drama that became one of the top 10 highest-grossing Malayalam films.
Action Hero Biju (2016) was a police drama that earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Malayalam. Jacobinte Swargarajyam (2016) was a family drama that showcased his ability to portray emotional depth. Sakhavu (2017) was a political satire that showcased his versatility as an actor. Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela (2017) was a family comedy that he produced under his production company, Pauly Jr. Pictures. Kayamkulam Kochunni (2018) was an epic film that emerged as one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films.
Nivin Pauly has also been part of the Kerala Strikers team in the Celebrity Cricket League and was named the youth ambassador of the Kerala Blasters FC for the third edition of the Indian Super League. In addition to acting, he made his debut as a producer with Action Hero Biju and has produced films such as Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela and Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham (2021), the first Malayalam movie to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.
Nivin Pauly has won several awards for his performances, including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for Neram (2013), the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performances in Bangalore Days and 1983 (2015), and the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Malayalam for Action Hero Biju (2016). In 2020, he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor -Special Mention for Moothon.
Since 2022, he has starred in the films Mahaveeryar, Padavettu, Saturday Night, Thuramukham, and Ramachandra Boss & Co.
